Welcome to the world I’ve created—a universe where each track from my solo album is intertwined with a spell, an intention, an act of magic. This project draws inspiration from the profound belief that music, much like our intentions, has the power to shape reality.

In crafting this work, I found resonance with the Japanese traditions of shirushi, the symbol, and kotodama, the spirit of the word. Together, they form jumon, the spell—a transformative fusion of meaning and vibration. Each song is imbued with these elements, where sound and symbol merge to channel energy, creating a pathway for justice, healing, and manifestation.

The melodies and lyrics are not merely artistic expressions; they are deliberate acts of magic. Like shirushi, they serve as visual and energetic markers, focusing our intentions. Like kotodama, they carry the power of spoken and sung words, reverberating with unseen forces that awaken and align with our deepest truths. Together, they give birth to a unique jumon—a spell that invites transformation and connection.

This album is a journey toward understanding how we can co-create our reality, in harmony with the universe, by aligning symbols, words, and music. Justice serves as a guiding theme—not the kind that divides, but the kind that harmonizes, bringing balance where there is chaos and light where there is shadow.

Nel dare vita a questo lavoro, ho trovato una connessione con le tradizioni giapponesi dello shirushi, il simbolo, e del kotodama, lo spirito della parola. “Virtus Absentiae” is a title that invites reflection on how absence and lack can acquire extraordinary strength. The virtue of absence is that quality which emerges when confronting emptiness or distance. It is not the absence of something that diminishes its meaning, but rather that which reveals a deep power. In this view, absence is not simply a lack, but an opportunity to develop an inner strength that arises from the encounter with what is not there.
In the modern world, characterized by perpetual conflicts, Virtus Absentiae invites us to consider the idea that virtue does not reside only in direct action or struggle, but also in the courage to withdraw from conflict, to reject war not with force, but with silence and the choice not to participate. Virtue, then, is found in absence, in the void that is not the result of passivity, but of an active decision not to accept the inevitability of violence.
The piece unfolds as a musical and philosophical reflection intertwining the idea of absence with the search for virtue as a rejection of war and division. It is in the absence of war, in the lack of reaction to the stimuli of hatred and conflict, that the strength of a virtuous position manifests, one that does not deny the world but withdraws from its destructive logic.
The title itself, Virtus Absentiae, encapsulates this apparent contradiction: absence becoming the path to achieving virtue, inaction finding its peak in the refusal to accept war as the only way. Quartz symbolizes the ability to endure and evolve, just like wolves that, while remaining faithful to their wild nature, know how to adapt to the changing circumstances of the world. These wolves are not just creatures of nature, but also guardians of time, beings that exist in an eternal present, always ready to follow their instincts but with a deep awareness of the fleeting nature of the moment.

In this context, love is not just a romantic feeling, but a transformative force that surpasses all of life’s challenges, physical and emotional barriers, and even death itself. It is the power that unites all things, dissolving separations and oppositions, and deeply connecting us to others and the universe. Love conquers all because it knows no boundaries or limits and manifests in every form: from the passion that breaks down difficulties, to the compassion that heals wounds, to the inner strength that pushes us to grow and evolve, even in times of great suffering or loneliness.

Eclogue X is one of the ten poems that make up Virgil’s Bucolica (or Eclogues), a series of poetic compositions celebrating pastoral life, but also politics and contemporary events, using the world of shepherds as an allegory for broader issues. Eclogue X is one of the most famous and is known for its sentimental and lyrical content.
